WHAT AM I LOOKING AT?
A shadow of a higher dimension.
A tesseract is the four-dimensional counterpart of a cube: 16 vertices, 32 edges, 24 square faces, and 8 cubic cells. Rotate one coordinate plane at a time, then project the result into 3D.
Mint edges outline the two cube cells. Violet edges join corresponding corners along the fourth direction. Projection makes the fourth coordinate look like depth, so edges may seem to change length or cross. The tesseract stays intact: this is a 3D projection, not a moving slice. Drag to change the 3D view; change projection distance to see the effect.
